Philippine President Benigno Aquino III has announced that the government is offering a P10-million reward for any information that will lead to the arrest of fugitive and alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles.
Aquino revealed the information during a press conference at the 8th East Asia Conference on Competition Law and Policy at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza on Wednesday (August 28).
The president made the announcement after three yachts allegedly owned by Napoles are now missing as claimed by the Bureau of Immigration.
“A-announce namin sana a little later pero dahil natanong na, announce ko na sa inyo, P10 million ang reward for information leading to the arrest of Napoles,” Aquino told reporters.
Napoles and her brother Reynald “Jojo” Lim were ordered arrested on August 14 by a Makati court on charges they illegally detained their cousin-turned-whistleblower Benhur Luy, a former longtime assistant of Janet Napoles.
