The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) officials announced that they decided to end the protest assembly being held on the corner of EDSA and Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City.
Thousands of INC members have staged a protest rally in EDSA since Friday, decrying Justice Secretary Leila de Lima’s alleged persecution of the Iglesia leadership.
The members have criticized De Lima for prioritizing the illegal detention case filed against the INC leaders instead of more important cases such as the killing of 44 Special Action Force members in Mamasapano.
As posted on Youtube, “Iglesia Ni Cristo General Evangelist Bro. Bienvenido Santiago announced the end of the 5-day peaceful assembly, saying that the Iglesia Ni Cristo and the government have come into peaceful agreement.
Bro. Santiago also officially announced the end of the 5-day peaceful assembly, declaring victory.”
