Presidential candidate Grace Poe has conceded to Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on Monday evening, May 9, 2016.
“I am Grace Poe, and I am giving way to Rodrigo Duterte, whom majority of our countrymen have chosen.”
According to the Senator, she fully supports the process of healing and unity after the elections. She also confirmed that she called Duterte earlier in the evening to congratulate him.
In a separate interview, Duterte said he accepted Poe’s concession and promised to support her advocacies.
“Since you go for the handshake, I accept it with humility. I can work with you. Paborito mo (your favorite) is electoral reforms, I will go for it, I will support it…. Consider me as your servant,” Duterte explained.
