Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila de Lima said she is not resigning from office after the alleged talks between the religious group Iglesia Ni Cristo and the Aquino government.
In an ambush interview with media on Tuesday, De Lima said “Will I be here if I’m resigning? I’m back at work. There’s a lot of work to do after the holidays.”
She also denied there was a deal with the INC officials which was the reason why the protesters ended their five-day rally.
The INC asked her to step down because of her alleged intervention in the internal affairs of the group. They claimed De Lima was behind expelled member Isaias Samson Jr. filing of the criminal complaint.
