The 47-year old African-American Barack Hussein Obama wins the 2008 United States American Presidential Election. He’s the 44th American President and the First Black American President in the history of the America.

Famous lines and quotes from his speech at the Grant Park in Chicago, where Obama addressed the nation for the first time as its president-elect.

“If there is anyone out there who doubts that America is a place where anything is possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.”

“Young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled, Americans have sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of red states and blue states.”

“It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America.”

The U.S. Presidential Election was followed not only by the Americans. The whole world is watching including the Philippines. Barack Obama served as an inspiration to fellow Filipinos living in America and those here in the country. One of his platforms about Immigration is the legalization of illegal aliens currently living in the U.S with no criminal records. Is this a good news to our TNT kababayans living in America?

While watching his speech via CNN Channel, i witnessed why Obama is well-loved by the Americans. Along with the crowd, Winfrey Oprah can’t hide her tears while listening to Obama’s speech in Chicago.

As a Filipino, i was also touched how Obama value the American people and his country. I wish we have the same Obama in the Philippines. In 2010 Philippine Presidential Election, we’ll find out!
