Miss USA 2016 Winner is District of Columbia Deshauna Barber


Miss District of Columbia Deshauna Barber was crowned winner of Miss USA 2016. The 26-year-old Barber is a native of Columbus, Georgia, she grew up in a military family.

Women from across the United States took the stage to vie for the crown of Miss USA 2016. The pageant finals held on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hawaii’s Chelsea Hardin was the 1st runner-up while and Georgia’s Emanii Davis was named 2nd runner-up .

The five (5) finalists in this year’s competition were: Alabama, California, Washington DC, Georgia and Hawaii.

The Top 15 were chosen at a preliminary competition and they were revealed to be: Peyton Brown (Alabama), Nadia Mejía (California), Deshauna Barber (Washington, D.C.), Emanii Davis (Georgia), Chelsea Hardin (Hawaii), Abby Floyd (Arkansas), Tiffany Teixeira (Connecticut), Sydnee Stottlemyre (Missouri), Madison McKeown (South Dakota), Desi Williams (Virginia), Chelsea Myers (Arizona), Megan Wise (Ohio), Taylor Gorton (Oklahoma), Leah Lawson (South Carolina) and Nichole Greene (West Virginia).

The judges for this year’s competition included former Miss USA 1996 Ali Landry, former Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart, Joe Zee of Yahoo Fashion, and Harper’s Bazaar Executive Director Laura Brown.
