Pinay Wives Available Online?

I came across to Pinaywives.com and thought it’s just an ordinary social networking for Filipina Wives with a common purpose. To protect them against abuse and to talk about their rights as a woman, a wife.

If you open the site, you’ll notice this phrase “to say “I do”, only the best will do…”. First thing i thought was the issue about Mail-Order Brides. It’s an old issue in this country and maybe around the world, but who will never forget the abuses of Filipina women which was televised way back. Old issue or not, the bottom line is the proliferation of this tactic has never been forgotten and continues to grow.

As a Filipino, I have nothing against Filipinas marrying western men. In fact, I have friends in the US married to American men.

What i don’t understand, why some people need to advertise our Filipina women online? I think there’s no difference between advertising our women to selling our women.

Take a look at these excerpts from Pinaywives.com;

PinayWives.com seeks to bridge the distance of the East and the West by introducing sincere, respectable, traditional and educated Filipinas with eligible Western men who are in search for lifetime partnership. Pinaywives.com was organized by a group of successfully married Filipino-Western couples who stands for the protection of both Filipinas and Western men.

Our main objective is for you to end up with a Filipina wife that you can be proud of no matter where you take them.

Imagine a marriage that transcends barrier and lasts through time, a partner who stands by you through thick and thin, a wife who takes care of you. How about a beautiful young wife who will not leave you for anything in this world? One who will cherish you and take care of you. If you desire of such kind of relationship, then you are definitely looking for a Filipina wife.

According to Former Senate President Villar;

The Republic Act 6955 of 1990 “declare(s) as unlawful the practice of matching Filipino women for marriage to foreign nationals on a mail order basis and other similar practices, including the advertisement, publication, printing or distribution of brochures, fliers, and other propaganda materials in furtherance thereof and providing penalty therefore.”

What’s your stand on this? Does Pinaywives.com is just another form of Mail-Order-Brides?

  1. @brian, Wow, that’s very touchable story. I’m glad that you appreciated of what you have here in the philippines especially for having your “finally love” with your wife and your family. I hope your faith about filipino people will not change. Godbless and goodluck to you :)

    Hi
I will tell you my experience. I am British, I was married for 25years. It was unhappy & eventually my wife divorced me. I paid her twice the amount of maintenance that the law required to ensure she had a home of her own. I lived alone for 5 years or so. When I was ill I suffered alone. I tried to build relationships with British women but failed. In the west dating agencies are respectable but they did not bring me love.I will say I was never unfaithful to my wife we just fellout of love & grew apart.
I tried to find romance on the internet & emailed a lot of very nice people from allover the world but there was no love. Then I heard about the Philippines. I was in contact with an on line club for some time. One day when I had almost given up I contacted the lady who is my wife. Soon we were in love. I had not been to Asia before then so it was a big adventure to fly over to see my girl. I paid no money ever to anybody in that club but I am grateful for how they helped me.It was the best decision of my life.
I come from a materialistic culture & I very much appreciate filippino spiritual values. I now am living here & investing in your country. I love the warmth of the people. At long last I feel loved & cared for not only by my wife but her whole family. I treat my wife as an equal & her family with respect. I am considered to have integrated well. I have god children here & I was a principle sponsor at a wedding. My wife her family & friends are all professionals. I acknowledge my father in laws authority in the family. No one considers they were bought or are a possession.
I do not think a service that just connects people is a mail order bridal service. Of course in a relationship there can be abuse & domination but whoever a filippina marries there is that risk.

I know there are many unhappy westerners who would treat a philippino wife with love & respect. Why should they not be happy?

i think its still the same as the mail to order brides. ginawa lang na maganda ang pagkakasabi sa site nila. sad but true.

First let me say I just recently ( 1.5 months now ) married a Filipina. I live, and always have lived in the USA. I can’t speak for all men, but I know that the reason I was even interested was because I grew tired of the moral values, or lack there of, that I’ve encountered here in the US.

Let me also say, that isn’t an indication there are NO moral values here, because there are. But with the fast paced existence that has become so common place here, people seem to forget the true reason ( at least I believe ) that we were put on this earth. Because of this, I’ve stood alone for many years living my single life the best I could, always being respectful of people I meet…

I was introduced to my wife through her tita, who married a good friend of mine 9 years ago. So the intro wasn’t the fashionable way via a “sale” over the web. We talked for 7 months, every day, most of the time on the phone. Through some lengthy, deep conversation, we came to understand that we were very compatible, and more then that, we found that a true affection and sense of belonging to each other had developed.

I love her very much, she is everything I thought a woman should be from the time I was young, and I thank God that he has placed us in each other lives.

We no longer live in a finite world, where the chance meetings only encompass a short 50 miles. I for 1, am very glad that technology has help me find my partner, and I hope and pray that those of you who feel lost and alone out there, one day are as fortunate as I am.

    Regards

There are writers and bloggers if I may say though who could be one fkin angel on the front and one ugly fkin devil from the behind. I found one ugly fkin angel in Manila. My point is, ugly as the theme pinaywivedotcom maybe they are after adNOsense monies. GET MY POINT?!

that’s okay. I know who you mean. we need both the fkin angel and fkin devil (ugly or not) to write or blog about these things :) Peace :)

@fitz- we just have to showcase both good and bad stories though about these sites so that there is a “buyer’s beware”.

Daming nag-agree sa sinabi ko ah… Hehe. Thank you for finding value in what I said.

am married to a non-pinoy and my stand on this? hindi lang naman pinays ang may websites na ganito e – ang karamihan nga lang, dinadaan sa mga dating – matchmaking sites. pero dito sa europe, hindi lang sa internet kundi talamak ang ad inserts looking for partners/wives sa mga newspapers. medyo glaring nga lang ang dating kasi mas mabenta ang pinay sites siguro kasi mas maganda ang pinays :D as for opening an pinoyhusbandsdotcom – ok na idea yan, ms pink biik, sa tingin mo mag rereklamo ang mga poging pinoys? heheh sempre mas maganda kung ang proud pinay sites ang manguna kesa sa mga ganyang sites

  9. monaco says:

My take on this as always is live and let live. As long as they are not doing anything illegal then by all means go ahead.

Many of these Pinays have different issues why they are in such situations. They see it as a way out, an escape from poverty in the country. Who can blame them? Many, on the other hand, are forced by parents in order to support the family. Different reasons, some are selfless, others selfish.

  10. MissPInkBiik says:

I SO DO AGREE WITH FITZ! There are a number of Filipinas who wanted to have a better life. Who dreams and thought that marrying someone from a different country would be the answer to their crisis and find security in their future. And there are the entrepreneurs who believes this is a good money making business and uses different marketing strategies to make it appealing to men from different nation. It is all business.

My take on woman being abuse in foreign countries, I think this happen to Filipinas who are married to Filipinos as well. In and out of the country, Happened to me and a couple more people I know.

Joke: Why don’t we open a site for Pinoyhusbansdotcom? lol

FilipinaImages.com has written extensively on sites like Pinaywives.com. These sites treat our Filipina like commodity. Like fitz said, there are many advocates that continually fight the mail order bride sites and women trafficking. In the meantime, my stand on this is to continue writing about the Filipina beyond the stereotype that is seen on dating websites.

  15. Fitz says:

The reason why these websites appear is not really because there’s a demand but more because there is a supply. I have seen so many internet cafe’s filled with middle aged women looking for foreign lovers. Even if advocates of women’s abuse fight these online businesses, these “hopeful” Pinays will continue to find ways to find their “secure future”.

  16. jessie says:

    Ambo,

Before this was only done by select individuals. Now it has become a global business. For me, I have nothing against it. It’s just that at some point I feel that our fellow Pinays are like business items. Well, that’s just my opinion on this. No harm intended. :-)
