Embolism
This man at the age of 27 was busy ironing his clothes while there was a man taking his medicine beside him, his father. An early morning ritual before going to his office. The man was surprised because his father told him that he’s a medicine for his heart. Yes, he consulted a doctor and the latter said that his heart was enlarged. The usual regimen of his father’s chewing a clove of garlic to reduce high blood pressure.
In the office, the phone rang and he heard the voice of her crying mother. His father collapsed and was brought to nearby hospital. The man was in shocked while running in tears.
When he reached the hospital, he found his father inside the Intensive Care Unit. He was lying in bed. Immobilized and almost dead. He cried, quietly.
In his childhood, he almost hated his father. He thought he was not a good provider. He could remember their fights, days where his father became alcoholic and nights where his father going home drunk.
One day he wished his father’s death. He can’t take the feelings of pain. He felt sorry for it.
It was a lone fight for him but his friends came to sympathized. It was an odd days of his life. His mother was admitted to the Emergency Room too.
At around 6:30pm, the man went back from the drugstore. He bought some medicines for his father. One of his friends approached him and said, your father is gone. When he approached the room, he saw the doctors trying to save his father’s life. He tried to help but it’s too late. The man was so sorry of his father. He kept on saying I love you Dad. I am sorry. The words that he always hesitate to tell his father. The words that could hardly express. He love his father more than he knows.
His father died of Embolism.
It’s never too late to say I Love You to your love ones.
February 04, 2000 was one of the memorable days of his family. The day when his father left. His death.
“Dad, wherever you are, i want you to know how much i love you. Happy Father’s Day.”
I AM THAT MAN.
