The first batch of It’s Showtime Tawag Ng Tanghalan grand finalists has been named on Saturday, April 2, 2016.
Out of the five semifinalists, only two of them was chosen to be part of the finals.
Gidget Dela Llana from Luzon, dubbed as ‘Sweet Songstress of Laguna’ garnered a score of 85.63 percent while Maricel Callo ‘Mama Sessionista’ of Pagadian received the highest score with 93.5 percent.
Official scores from the text votes revealed that Callo received the highest score while fan favorite Rachel Gabreza got the highest score from the judges.
Unfortunately, the sales diva from Makati was eliminated after receiving low votes from the public.
She was joined by Daddy Dominador Jr. from Mindanao and Jaime Navarro from Metro Manila.
