Cyrus Villanueva Crowned Winner of The X Factor Australia 2015





Filipino-Australian singer Cyrus Villanueva was crowned the winner of The X Factor Australia 2015 in its grand final this Tuesday, November 24. Louise Adams was the second place winner while Jess & Matt came in third.

The 19-year-old Wollongong singer is the second male winner since Reece Mastin in 2011. The last three winners were Samantha Jade, Dami Im and Marlisa Punzalan in 2014.

Cyrus performed his audition track The Weeknd’s “Earned It,” then sang his soulful rendition of Labrinth’s “Jealous,” and stunned the crowd with his coronation single “Stone.”

His ‘Jealous’ performance brought his mentor Isaak to tears. Chris said: “I might need that handkerchief back,” as he struggled to contain his emotions. “You definitely earned your position here in the Grand Final. You can sing anything!” Sebastian commented.

Cyrus won a recording contract deal with Sony Music Australia.
