Nominees for the Oscars 2016 or the 88th Academy Awards were announced on Thursday at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s “The Revenant” lead the Oscar nominations with 12 nods including best picture and acting nominations for both DiCaprio in the lead acting category, best director for Alejandro Inarritu and best supporting actor for Tom Hardy.
The other movies nominated for best picture are “The Big Short,” “Bridge of Spies,” “Brooklyn,” “The Martian,” “Room” and “Spotlight.”
Winners of the 2016 Oscars will be announced on Feb. 28 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood hosted by comedian Chris Rock.
