Filipino-Mexican Jessica Sanchez made it to American Idol Season 11 Top 8. She is now six weeks closer to this season’s finals. Will she be the first Asian to win American Idol?
On Wednesday, March 28, Jessica performed her rendition of Beyonce’s hit “Sweet Dreams.” The judges and guest mentor Stevie Nicks, loved her performance.
“It was a really, really beautiful rendition,” Jennifer Lopez praises saying Jessica left her wanting more. “If I was Beyonce and I was home listening, I’d be like, ‘I gotta do that in my next concert, slow that down. I think you’re a star no matter what,” Steven Tyler says. Randy Jackson appreciates amazing talent and says, “You just innately have this unbelievable talent. I look forward to hearing you every night. I think you’re one of the best singers I’ve heard in many years.”
This week, Korean-American Heejun Han received the lowest votes and eliminated from the show. Other finalists in the Top 8 are Skylar Laine, Hollie Cavanagh, Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet, Elise Testone, Colton Dixon and DeAndre Brackensick.
Next week, American Idol Season 11 Top 8 will perform songs from the 80’s.
