Another Fil-AM named Jessica Sanchez has made it to the Top 24 of American Idol Season 11. The 16-year-old from Chula Vista, California was among the 14 contestants who made it to the Top 24. Judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler were impressed with her version of “The Prayer” by Josh Groban. She also performed songs of Celine Dion during the auditions.
Sanchez was one of the early favorites of “Idol” this year. She’s another Charice in the making said entertainment blogger Rickey. On his site he said, “‘Idol’ just discovered the new Charice! Amazing! I’m so happy Filipino readers are going to support my blog again. Mabuhay!”
On Wednesday the 14 contestants of the Top 24 were revealed including Jessica Sanchez. Other contestants who made it were: Jen Hirsh, Haley Johnson, Elise Testone, Erika Van Pelt, Chelsea Sorrell, Baylie Brown, Brielle Von Hugel, Creighton Fraker, Joshua Ledet, Reed Grimm, Phil Phillips Jr., Collton Dixon and another Asian-American Heejun Han.
On Thursday, February 24, American Idol Season 11 will announce the complete names of contestants who made it to the Top 24.
