After Jessica Sanchez, another Pinoy talent emerged in ABC’s new singing show titled “Duets.” Jason Farol, 23, a pure-blooded Filipino who is based in Torrance, California performed on May 24, the season premiere of the show.
“Duets” features amateur singers who get the chance to sing with the show’s mentor-judges: American Idol Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson, R&B singer-songwriter Robin Thicke, soul/R&B musician John Legend, and Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles.
Farol performed “Breaking Your Own Heart” with Clarkson. According to the judges, Jennifer Nettles: “When you open and your voice opens up it lights up the room.” Robin Thicke: “You are adorable, your voice, your face.” John Legend: “I love how much you love being here.”
Farol has also auditioned in GMA 7′s “Starstruck” but unfortunately did not make it to the Top 14. He has also tried his luck in Glee and America’s Got Talent.
