“Ellen DeGeneres” Newest American Idol Judge

Popular daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres will be the new American Idol judge replacing Paula Abdul, but we have to wait and see. DeGeneres will join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi as the newest “American Idol” host for the show’s ninth season.

Ellen DeGeneres is not scheduled yet to appear on “American Idol” until February. Guest celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry, Shania Twain, Joe Jonas and Mary J. Blige will sit at the judge’s table during the audition process until DeGeneres joins the show.

“I’m thrilled to be the new judge on American Idol,” Ms. DeGeneres said in a statement. “I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text in my vote.”
