A Prayer for Brokenman

I am offering this post for our fellow blogger, a friend who’s suffering from Leukemia, Lex.

I’m counting the hours. The ticking of the clock and when the right time comes, i’ll be fixing myself to start a new adventure. I’m going back to treatment, a crucial phase in my journey with leukemia. I’m scared but i’m praying and trusting Him with the hope that when this phase is through. I’ll come out alive - Brokenman

Man this is for you.

In my distress I called to the LORD; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears.

Manila Central University Graduate Filipina Nurse Wins US Top Award

Habang nagpipista ang lahat sa kontrobersyal na Desperate Housewives issue tungkol sa pag insulto nito sa ating Medical Schools dito sa Pilipinas, ito naman ang isang pamatid uhaw na balita para sa ating lahat.

A Filipino-American Senior Nurse Lily Maniquiz Lara based in Los Angeles, a nurse manager of the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System’s Nursing Home Care Unit 213-2 was named one of the Best Nurse Leaders of the United States by winning the 2006 ADVANCE for Nurses Journal’s Best Nurse Leader award.

Vital to her winning was the successful implementation of a program that she created for the reduction of patient fall incidents. The program has been adopted as model for other fall prevention programs. “I was challenged by my senior leadership team to address the increasing patient fall incidents in our unit. What I did was, together with my multi-disciplinary staff, implement specific changes that became a four-pronged approach to reduce patient falls,” Lara said.

Adventures of the Coconuter an Inspiration

A young man who had a comfortable and achievement-adorned life in the US, left it all in search of true meaning to “life, freedom, purpose, and happiness” figuratively embodied in a “perfect golden coconut.” While in the US, he graduated Valedictorian of his high school class, received a full scholarship to one of the top US colleges, Rice University, interned at NASA for two terms, and is MENSA International qualified, to name a few of his accomplishments. He now lives as a “nomad” in the Philippines and attempts to try and understand various aspects of life and life itself. He maintains a blog to document his thoughts and photographs during his journey. His writings and ideas have good intentions and have potential for overall world improvement, which you will see from reading his blog.

“Para akong nuts o baliw na naghahanap ng ambisyon sa Pilipinas habang ang karamihang Pilipino ay nagkakandarapang pumunta sa Amerika”

Take a Bow to Pinoy TV Media Strategists

Who says that only women can use this shampoo, to make hair as soft as this guy? Funny, but this TV ad had a great impact to all the viewers and shampoo users as well. This is not the first time for a guy endorsing a shampoo product, but now with a twist, long hair, just like women. For readers abroad, this is one of the popular TV commercials in the Philippines now. The background says, “No camera tricks were used in this commercial,” ohh. i believe so.
