The story of Jane Walker is touching and an inspiration to all the Filipinos around the world. This British mom really touched my heart that’s why it drives me to write about her. She was called an Angel to save the Filipino children in Manila’s city dump, the Smokey Mountain.
She left her career in Britain just to save the Filipino children. The 43 year old Briton has been personally attached for more than 10 years at Smokey Mountain project. She is the founder of Philippine Christian Foundation in 1996, and later registered as a charity in 2002. Among the projects of PCF includes Education and Adult Literacy, Nutrition and Health, Livelihood and Skills Training, Family and Community Enhancement and Spiritual Care.

Ito ang balitang bumulaga sa atin kaninang hapon dito sa Pilipinas. Former Joseph Estrada was given a full pardon ng ating magaling na Presidenteng Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Magaling, magaling, magaling!

New Species Found in Philippine Waters. Good News Kababayan! A team of US and Filipino scientists plunged up to five kilometres (three miles) underwater in early October in an area that has been isolated by rising sea levels and may have spawned sea life not found elsewhere.
One of the Species found. A red medusa jellyfish of the genus Atolla is seen swimming in this handout photograph from WHOI’s expedition to the Celebes Sea in October 2007.
They collected between 50 and 100 potentially undiscovered species of marine invertebrates and fishes.
The survey was conducted by Woods Hole, National Geographic and Filipino scientists at the Coral Triangle, bodies of water bounded by the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia that are known to contain the world’s richest biodiversity in shallow water marine species.

On today’s (October 27) pilot airing of Usapang Pinoy, Harvey Keh will be on the show to discuss the things he said in his last open letter! Tune in to www.futureradio.co.uk at 10pm Manila time!
I came accross at Kengkay’s Blog and i read Harvey Keh’s email. Harvey became so popular when he wrote why he wanted to leave this country . Indeed this 27-year old guy received enormous responsed from his open letter dedicated to Filipinos. Now here comes another email from Harvey. Must read.
Dear Fellow Filipinos,
Good day to all of you!
Recently, I came across an article which talks about the main reasons why India is slowly but surely growing into a world power with a fast developing economy. One of the major reasons cited by the article is the fact that many Indians who have left to study, work or live abroad have now started to go back and help their country through various means. In an interview that I watched at CNN, many Indian youth have expressed that they want to study or work abroad just like Filipinos but the only difference is they see themselves coming back after a few years to bring back what they learned to help their country.
As I thought about this, I realized that we can learn much from the Indians. Imagine if every Filipino working or living abroad would just do his or her own small share towards helping our country, then I think in a few years we could also expect that our country would grow and not be left behind by our Asian neighbors like Vietnam, Thailand, China and India. I thought of suggesting some easy ways that Filipinos living abroad can help our country and I hope that you will consider doing some of these suggestions to help our Philippines:
