Justice for Overseas Filipino Worker’s Death Abroad

Jenifer Bidoya, a 27 years old Overseas Filipino Worker in Saudi Arabia was sentenced to death in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The merciful death of this young guy from Zamboanga came out in public last week. According to the family, some officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs informed them to keep the issue in private especially in media reporters. They were offered assistance, but it’s late Jenifer was already executed.

The desperate and hopeless family broke their silence and reported to media about the news. Reports said, DFA sent a letter twice in Saudi Arabia. Nothing happened, except the verbal promises by the officials of DFA.

Pilipinas Kong Mahal

Pilipinas Kong Mahal. Aking inihahandog ang entry na ito sa lahat ng ating mga kababayang nagsikap at naghangad ng kapalaran sa ibang bansa. Ang mga Overseas Filipino Workers, mga Immigrants, at iba pang mga Pinoy na nasa ibayong dagat. Ito po ay para sa inyo. Anumang hirap ang dinanas mo Kabayan, ano mang pagsubok, naiwan man natin ang ating pamilya sa ating bayan, alam kong muli kang magbabalik.

Kung naghihirap man ng ating bansa. Kung may mga kaguluhan. Mga sakuna. Iba pa rin kapag nandito ka, kasama ka namin sa Pilipinas. Ito lang ang maliit kong paraan para hikayatin kang muling bumisita, kahit saglit dito sa Pilipinas.

Alam mo, miss na miss na kita. Alam ko naman, miss mo na din ako. Dalawin mo naman ako. Hihintayin kita - Pilipinas

An OFW Certified Proud Pinay!

In Singapore, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) showed her honesty for returning a wallet containing large amount of money to an Indonesian national. The owner was in Singapore accompanying her son for a surgery.

Maritess Galam, 33 years old working in Singapore as head waitress at Imperial Restaurant. She found a gold wallet inside the rest room of Vivo Shopping Mall. When she inspected the wallet, it contained S$16,600 or PhP485,08. According to her, “Di mo talaga pag-iinteresan kasi lumang-luma na, naagnas na, at sira na. Flat din sya.”

Maritess Galam and the shopping mall manager find the owner and later returned it. The Indonesian mother was deeply thankful to her honesty.
