TV Reporter Ces Drilon Was Kidnapped in Sulu

TV Reporter Ces Drilon kidnapping was later confirmed by ABS-CBN after the alleged news blackout. Ces Drilon and two of her cameramen, Jimmy Encarnacion and Angelo Valderrama were seized by the Abu Sayyaf members in the village of Kulasi, Maimbung, Sulu. Ms. Drilon was accompanied by Octavio Dinampo, a professor from the Mindanao State University, who was helping in her coverage. The allegations was later confirmed by Supt. Julasirim Kiram, Provincial Police chief of Sulu.
They were blocked on Sunday in Maimbung, Sulu, Jolo, by militants headed by armed men under Albader Parad, an Abu Sayyaf leader and Gapur Jundain, former member of the Moro National Liberation Front.
Meanwhile, Chief Superintendent Joel Goltiao, police regional director for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said that:”Pinapakain naman sila [They are being fed well], they are well and alive, hindi sila nakatali [they are not tied] and nakakalabas sila [they are able to move around] but they are being escorted.”
Ransom were also allegedly asked, ranging from PPh10 million to PPh30 million or an equivalent to $227,000 and $454,000 (US).
