Erap, Guilty or Not Guilty?

After six years of waiting, Former President Joseph Estrada’s promulgation of plunder case is set on Wednesday 9m, September 12, 2007, Manila. Five days to wait and the verdict for Erap will be issued by the Sandiganbayan.

In the news, Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales quoted, “i understand that if the former President is convicted, it will be hard for some people. But we need to abide by the rule of law or else it will lose its credibility.”

Whatever the verdict is, it is time for us to accept the decision. We have to respect our Justice System. We have to move on.

September 12 would be a remarkable day for Filipinos. The long wait is over. Let our democracy decide. Whether guilty or not guilty.

Proud Pinoys!

The Madrigal Singers again proved their worth. They won the prestigious European Grand Prix for Choral Singing Sunday night in Arezzo, Italy.

They beat powerful choirs such as Russia’s Vesna Children’s Choir, Hungary’s Cantemos Mixed Choir, Cuba’s Schola Cantorum Coralina and the Taipei Chamber Singers.

The choir, is the first and only choir to win twice in what is known as the choral Olympics of the world.

The Philippine Madrigal Singers (also known as the “Madz”) was founded in 1963 by National Artist for Music, Professor Andrea O. Veneracion.

Willie’s Wilyonaryo a Mistake?

Speculations regarding Wowowee’s Wilyonaryo episode last August 20, a scam or just a mere mistake? This video from youtube.com have been circulating in the internet and received negative reactions from the people who watched it.

Well, the show has all the rights to explain what really happened and viewers has the right to hear it as well. I know this issue will soon be cleared. So, let’s just wait.

The ‘Wilyonaryo’ segment was first launched last Saturday, August 18, 2007 replacing ‘Pera o Bayong’.

Check-in For P25.00?

Gwapotel, a project by MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando which was opened last May 14, 2007. It is located at Bonifacio Drive in Intramuros, where clients pay only P25 for a day’s stay while a shower costs P5.

The hotel-like project serves most of our small-businessman, workers and transients who find place to sleep in the city at a very low cost.

“The hotel is the rebuilt National Power Corp. Building on the famous strip. Separate quarters with double-bunk beds for men and women are available. Cheap breakfast and brunch at the canteen are among the amenities” quoted Manila Times.

The concept i think was copied in Tokyo where travelers in the city prefer to stay rather than going home. But the Tokyo’s facility is a bit smaller (you have to squeeze yourself in a tomblike structure and built on top of the other) than Gwapotel. If you have time, give a try and stay at Gwapotel.

The Criminal Modus Operandi

Praise to the Makati Police and Chief Gilbert Cruz for uploading their one of a kind video campaign. Using the power of internet, these videos were uploaded at Youtube. Various Modus Operandis circulating in Metro Manila and nearby provinces were re-enacted by the Makati police themselves.

An example of their video, “Criminal Modus Operandi - ATM Scam”.
