Check-in For P25.00?

Gwapotel, a project by MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando which was opened last May 14, 2007. It is located at Bonifacio Drive in Intramuros, where clients pay only P25 for a day’s stay while a shower costs P5.

The hotel-like project serves most of our small-businessman, workers and transients who find place to sleep in the city at a very low cost.

“The hotel is the rebuilt National Power Corp. Building on the famous strip. Separate quarters with double-bunk beds for men and women are available. Cheap breakfast and brunch at the canteen are among the amenities” quoted Manila Times.

The concept i think was copied in Tokyo where travelers in the city prefer to stay rather than going home. But the Tokyo’s facility is a bit smaller (you have to squeeze yourself in a tomblike structure and built on top of the other) than Gwapotel. If you have time, give a try and stay at Gwapotel.

White Rabbit and the Gang Embalmed?

Remember the old days when you and your playmates rushing to the sari-sari store to buy this candy? Yes, and this one’s my favorite. White Rabbit. The candy’s not actually white; it’s brown. c”,) From the regular brown candy, it’s followed by the white chewy and now creamy candy, and there’s a catch, the inner wrapper or the rice paper is edible. Wow! Wrapper-ricepaper-eater? Recently, there were reports, this candy’s confirmed containing formaldehyde. Formaldehyde known as “formalin” is of course popular to some; notably in embalming.
The Bureau of Food and Drug banned White Rabbit Creamy Candy to local stores and supermarkets together with Milk Candy, Bairong Grape Biscuits and Yong Kang food grape biscuit.Joshua Ramos, BFAD Director quoted, “ refrain from buying products positive for formaldehyde until such time they are safe to be consumed.”

For more information call BFAD Hotline 842-5606.

Food for thought “ The world is not a problem, the problem is your unawareness.”

A Bad Bank Day

I went to the bank this afternoon and was terribly irked when the guards didn’t allow me to enter.

It’s 2:50 pm on my watch when I reached the establishment. To my surprise, the bank’s already closed. I tried to knock and the guard came out and said, sorry we are closed. While talking to the guard with half-door open, I simply gazed at their clock, it’s only 2:55pm. So I asked, why I am not allowed to enter where I still have 5 minutes before 3pm? He said, the manager told him that they’re closed. Duh!

I persevered to talk to the manager but the guard closes the door again. I am about to leave when I noticed  2 separate people and one’s carrying a small white envelope (that contains money perhaps) knocked, and entered the premises. This time i questioned the guard and according to him they’re the manager’s visitors. Whew! What the hell.

Well I do not know if that’s the bank regulations to just close as they wished. Where they allow people only if they knew? Hey, It’s  unfair, foul, impolite to other clients and tolerating this action is such a misbehavior.

The Bank : PCI Equitable – Almanza Branch Las Pinas City.

Swiss Cash - Too Good To Be True?

My brother told me that they were invited to see a business proposal. Not knowing that it was such a big business deal. In the Philippines, $1000 is equivalent to P50,000. That’s the minimum capital.

It’s called Franc Swiss. Visit www.francswiss.biz

The guy informed them that it is already rampant in most part of Asia, especially in Singapore and Malaysia. The scenario, your money will earn as much as more than a 100% in return. In two months time your money will be doubled or more.

Everyday, the interest will be deposited in your account. Of course, the bigger you invest, the bigger you earn.

Hearsay, one of the biggest investors here has 7 Million peso shares. And she’s one of the demanding actresses in show business here in the Philippines. Guess who?

I do not know how the system works. But in my opinion, it’s nothing but a fly-by-night business.
