Proud Pinoys!

The Madrigal Singers again proved their worth. They won the prestigious European Grand Prix for Choral Singing Sunday night in Arezzo, Italy.
They beat powerful choirs such as Russia’s Vesna Children’s Choir, Hungary’s Cantemos Mixed Choir, Cuba’s Schola Cantorum Coralina and the Taipei Chamber Singers.
The choir, is the first and only choir to win twice in what is known as the choral Olympics of the world.
The Philippine Madrigal Singers (also known as the “Madz”) was founded in 1963 by National Artist for Music, Professor Andrea O. Veneracion.

no group could ever match madz, their collective vocals and song repertoire is out of this world. about 5 yrs ago, nini, a friend of mind, gave me old collections of their tape & were lucky enough to ever heard them sing in front of a rowdy city gala festival. for ten days madz rendered a high calibre concert engaging all of us ex-pat. its unforgetable.
