New year is the best time to start something new. That’s why i’ve decided to change the looks of this blog to a simple 2-column theme. In 6 months of my blogging adventure, i think i’ve tried 5 different themes for this blog. But the last one i’ve used created by Justine was the longest. Changing theme is an easy task but it’s not easy to pick up the best. I’ve been to 3-column, 4-column even the 5-column themes and trying 2-column theme is part of my experiment.
Remember i wrote No CPR to CTR If You Do This? Do you know that I’m still enjoying the success of that experiment? Answer is yes.
Set aside the money and push your effort first. I believe, once you understand the sequence of monetizing your blog (Google Adsense) by placing the right content and the right position of your ad, i’m sure you’ll be the luckiest blogger in the world. Don’t forget your theme and colors of your ad should blend in the whole package of your blog.
The 2-column theme with sidebar on the right is perfect for bloggers using google ads. There are big chances that readers may click ads on your right sidebar because the scroll bar is on the right! Reading back and forth on your blog increase the chances of hitting your ads.
Using square ads like 250×250 or 336×280 are good example of increasing your income. Colors like blue for the link are usually clicked by readers. You can use the default google pallete with blue and green link. Lastly, try to remove not so important widgets to increase visibility of your ads. Try it!

Btw, the original theme isn’t the blue one. Ito talagang green. Swerte daw tong kulay this year kasi earth rat tayo hehehe.

Honestly, I like the first one before Justin’s, black theme. It speaks more about you. So ok, I didn’t like this for your blog (no offense). I like 3 themes, tho, it’snot hard to choose, it’s just that some of the nice themes out there are for ‘hardcore’ I pick the ones with widget ready. I’d bet Justin’s new theme looks beautiful, see if you can try that.
